What a brilliant day we are having so far! As soon as we arrived at Robinwood, we were greeted by our crazy leaders – Suzie, Jenny, Nicky and Faye. Within 5 minutes of being here, we were given our first task. We had to take our bags up to our rooms and make our own beds! By the looks of the beds, this was a first for most children.
Once our beds had been made, we had a quick bite to eat and we were ready for our first activity. Team Crag began their day with some archery. Team Mountain and Team Ridges first activity was bouldering. The children had to complete a gruelling trek to get to the top of the hill where they found the huge boulders at Orchan Rock.
When we eventually reached the boulders, the children had to use all their flexibility and show great courage to squeeze through some tiny gaps in between the boulders. Every child gave it their best go, despite some nervous faces as seen below.
After bouldering, Team Ridge went on the night line. The children were all blind folded and had to tackle a variety of obstacles while avoiding the dreaded Robinwood squirrels who are always looking for somewhere to wee.
After the night line, the children were straight into another activity… Climbing.
The children got into their harnesses and scaled up the steep wall like Spider-Man. Some children even climbed the wall blindfolded.
Finally it it was time for tea. Unfortunately there are no pictures from around this time as all adults and children were busy re-fuelling. After tea, It was Team Ridges turn to polish their skills in the archery range.
After a long and exhausting day, it’s finally time for bed. Everyone has had a fantastic day and thankfully the only accident we have had is Ruby getting her hair stuck in the blind.
