Last night the children were fantastic, there wasn’t a sound from the rooms after lights out; an amazing achievement for these chatterboxes!!
We are all busy on our first activities of the day: caving, nightline and trapeze. Get ready for some tired children at tea time 😴

On the climbing wall!!
Mrs Theaker still couldn’t hit the target after 30 arrows!
What a brilliant day we are having so far! As soon as we arrived at Robinwood, we were greeted by our crazy leaders – Suzie, Jenny, Nicky and Faye. Within 5 minutes of being here, we were given our first task. We had to take our bags up to our rooms and make our own beds! By the looks of the beds, this was a first for most children.
Once our beds had been made, we had a quick bite to eat and we were ready for our first activity. Team Crag began their day with some archery. Team Mountain and Team Ridges first activity was bouldering. The children had to complete a gruelling trek to get to the top of the hill where they found the huge boulders at Orchan Rock.
The big climb
Children had to take turns carrying an extremely heavy bag up to the rocks. As you can see, Billy loved it when it was his turn.
Crawling under the gate!
Finally reaching the top of the hill
When we eventually reached the boulders, the children had to use all their flexibility and show great courage to squeeze through some tiny gaps in between the boulders. Every child gave it their best go, despite some nervous faces as seen below.
After bouldering, Team Ridge went on the night line. The children were all blind folded and had to tackle a variety of obstacles while avoiding the dreaded Robinwood squirrels who are always looking for somewhere to wee.
Mr Simpson, Mr Robinson and Mr Tipton drove the minibuses to Robinwood, we arrived at 10:15 and can report that there were 28 very excited children who’s first adventure was a walk to the centre up a very steep hill. We all hope the children have a fabulous time and look forward to seeing more posts from Mr Crossley, Mrs Theaker and Mrs Clark and some parent messages too!
Mrs Larner reports that ‘all’s well’ they had a quiet night. The children are looking forward to seeing you this afternoon. Please can you collect your children at 3:10pm from Mr Alsop’s classroom door. Thank you.
We have had another activity packed day at Robinwood.
The children had to work together to solve problems to get out of the dreaded Piranha Pool alive!
Thankfully they all survived…..just!
We also had a lot of fun on the giant swing.
The Dungeons of Doom were a little too much for some……..
As for the rest, they were ready to sleep wherever they could during the Team Challenge.
Another fantastic day at Robinwood!
